Law of Attraction or Law of Alignment. Are they the same thing?
As a student of the Law of Attraction for many years, I've followed along as many teachers have found different ways to explain the ways in which we attract people, things, and events into our lives. Lately I've been hearing the word alignment used almost as a synonym for attraction. Are they the same thing? Maybe. Maybe not.
The Law of Attraction states that like attracts like. This means that we cannot attract something that is the total opposite of what we are. If, as science says, everything is made up of particles vibrating as specific energy levels and only things that are vibrating at the same frequency can attract each other, then we have to be aware of our specific vibrations in order to attract the things we wish to attract.
This is where alignment comes in. When things are vibrating at the same frequency they are said to be in alignment with each other. It is much easier for me to visualize two matching vibrations than to try to decipher how I may be attracting things I want or don't want in my life.
Visualization is one of my favorite tools for creating alignment. A lot has been written about visualization. Everyone seems to have an opinion about it. To me, it means getting into the feeling of what it is like to have manifested whatever I am visualizing. Right now, one of the things I'm visualizing is a new car. Whenever I drive our little Corolla, I do my best to feel that I'm driving a midsized SUV. I get into the feeling of sitting up higher. I feel the tires grab the road in a certain way. I tune out the loud motor and hear a quiet purr instead. Obviously, I can't do this the whole time I'm driving but I do it as often as I can for as long as I can. I expect to have that new car very soon.
Another way I find alignment is writing an appreciation journal. After many years in relationships that showed me what I didn't want, I had quite a list of things that I did want. I started writing every morning about the relationship I wanted. I wrote as if I already had it. I thanked the Universe for the partner I 'had'. In the meantime, I was loving the life I had as a single person. It took about nine months of this before the perfect partner showed up in my life.
When I get into our little Corolla, I align with the feeling of appreciation for having a car that will take me where I need to go and do the things I need to do before I start visualizing the car I'd rather have. I feel that this is a key component in any manifestation project. What are you in alignment with? What do you want to be in alignment with? What tools will you use to manifest that alignment?
